Drawing is thinking. These watercolors and sketches document travels, site visits, and architectural analysis—an ongoing practice of learning to see through the act of recording.

From Steven Holl’s Chapel of Saint Ignatius to Paffard Keatinge-Clay’s San Francisco Art Institute addition, these studies explore how buildings shape experience and how we, in turn, interpret spatial ideas through hand and eye.

From 2014-2017, I co-directed with Prof. Claudia Rosa-López an extracurricular workshop training students in measured drawing for the National Park Service’s Historic American Buildings Survey. This work earned three consecutive Charles E. Peterson Prize awards:
